The National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) in partnership with Youth Affairs Council Victoria (YACVic) are recruiting young people to be on a Youth Council for their IMPACT study.
The study will follow Australian young people over five years and look at how current experiences of alcohol impacts their health. The study will dive into the nuances of what it means to have easy access to alcohol and how marketing and social media and cultural values influence behaviour and attitudes towards alcohol.
As part of the Youth Council you will share your lived experience, ideas and expertise on various key point of the study, including:
We encourage participants to stay engaged throughout the study, and ideally, we’re looking for a minimum commitment of around 12 months.

The first Training and Co-design sessions will be:
Thu 16 April 5.30-7.30pm - Induction
Thu 23 April 5.30-7.30pm - Training 1 (youth-led meetings)
Thu 30 April 5.30-7.30pm - Training 2 (Introduction to research methods)
Thu 7 May 5.30-7.30pm - Co-design 1 (survey drafting)
Thu 14 May 5.30-7.30pm - Co-design 2 (survey recruitment strategy)
There will then be regular meetings approximately every three months through the rest of the study.
